Typically 3-5 days prior to your arrival, we reverse the shutdown process. When you arrive your home is problem free and ready for you.
Before water activation, we open a valve inside the home. This allows us to activate the water without putting stress on the faucets and fixtures. The water supply to the home is slowly brought up to pressure.
Once the water is activated, we bleed all of the air, odor and/or debris through the water lines.Cellophane is removed from the toilets.Your faucets, toilets, hot water heater, and interior drains are checked for leaks. Toilets are flushed several times to ensure they are working properly and not leaking.
electricity and breakers are activated. Items that were unplugged during shutdown are plugged back in. Propane/Gas is dealt with on a case by case basis. It is activated to make sure there is fuel in the tank. It is then shut off. If all propane/gas appliances in the home are determined to have electronic ignition during the in home survey we may leave the propane/gas on at the owners request.
Newspaper is removed from dormant refrigerators. Refrigerators, electric stoves and water heaters are activated and checked to see they are in working order.
Any items placed in the home at shutdown for moisture/mold control are removed and disposed of properly. Solar protection is removed from the windows and stored.
Items that were put away at shutdown are brought out. We put clotheslines back up. Patio furniture and BBQ grills are set up. Other items such as hose reels and welcome mats are put back out.
If we put away your bikes and/or tricycles, we bring them out and can lock them up outside if a lock is provided. We will add air to the tires for you.
Batteries that were removed at shutdown are put back in remotes, phones, clocks and smoke detectors. Items are tested to make sure batteries are good and devices are working. If provided by the homeowner, dead or corroded batteries are replaced.
If provided by the homeowner, we will replace air conditioning and water filters for water filtration for the home, refrigerators or filtering pitchers.
We will activate the air conditioning system or heat depending on what the weather will be like upon your arrival. Dehumidistats are deactivated.
Duey does it!! Services will go the extra mile to make sure things are perfect upon your arrival. We will make fresh ice for you, open your blinds or keep them closed, it's up to you. We will remove dust covers from furniture you may have covered upon your departure. If we need to make a minor repair for you during the start up, consider it done. Your convenience and comfort when you get here is our goal.
